Step-by-Step Installation Overview

If you want a simple roadmap before you begin, the overview below briefly shows the key steps from start to finish.

  1. Prepare the opening
Remove your old door and frame, then clean and sweep the garage opening.

  2. Measure and cut guides
Measure and cut the supplied guide rails to fit your opening using a hacksaw or cutting disc.

  3. Install the guides and top box
Hold the cut guide runners in place and, with two or more people, lift the door top box into position, sliding the guides into the end plates. Clamp or brace it and drill the top fixing holes.

  4. Secure the guides
Screw the guide rails into the wall using the provided screws and plugs. Level each side before drilling the remaining holes.

  5. Fit the curtain
Attach the door curtain into the guides and fit the bottom rail. The full guide includes details for both TWF55 and TWF77 models.

  6. Install motor and controls
Mount the motor and receiver box as directed, then follow the wiring and setup instructions supplied with your kit. Set the up and down travel limits on the motor as explained.

  7. Test and seal
Test the door operation to make sure it opens and closes smoothly. Seal any gaps around the frame with silicone to help weatherproof the install.

Tools and Safety Checklist Overview

Tools

You will need basic tools like a drill with 7mm and 10mm bits, a screwdriver, tape measure, spirit level, hammer, hacksaw or cutting disc, Stanley knife, pencil, and a sealant gun.

Teamwork

Roller doors can be heavy, especially the larger 77mm models, so have at least two people on hand. TWF recommends 2 to 4 people for larger doors.

Operation Safety

When testing and using the door, keep it in full view at all times. The door should be operated only by responsible adults. Keep bystanders, especially children, clear of the area.

Follow Instructions

Always follow the full safety notes in the manual. If a safety edge kit applies to your setup, read the wiring instructions carefully before powering up.
