How Standard 55 Compares with Our Other Roller Door Options

standart-55-roller-garage-door

TWF Standard 55

55mm x 9mm insulated slat for typical single garages; budget-friendly choice where standard insulation is sufficient.

twf-premium-55-roller-garage-door-brown

55mm x 12.5mm insulated slat for single garages; upgrade choice when you want higher strength and noticeably better insulation.

classic-77-roller-garage-door-white

77mm x 18mm insulated slat for wider or double openings; strongest option for large garages and more exposed locations.

Sizes and Openings Standard 55 is Suited to:

Standard 55 is built to your measurements rather than fixed panel sizes and is normally chosen for single garage openings.

Supported opening range:

  • Width: 1200mm to 2500mm (including guide runners)
  • Height: Up to 2400mm including a 205mm top box

Where additional height is required, a 250mm top box can be used where headroom allows.

The top box can be positioned behind the lintel when sufficient internal headroom is available, or below the lintel if clearance is limited. A below-lintel fit slightly reduces the clear drive-through height but still provides a neat, colour-matched finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Standard 55 insulated?

Yes. Standard 55 uses insulated aluminium slats, which help reduce draughts and improve everyday comfort inside the garage.

What is the difference between Standard 55 and Premium 55?

Both use 55mm slats, but Premium 55 uses a thicker slat. If you want the 55mm look with added rigidity, Premium 55 is the upgrade.

Will Standard 55 work for wider openings?

It suits most single garages. For wider openings, Classic 77 is usually recommended. Use the Garage Door Builder with your measurements to see which options are available.

Can I fit Standard 55 myself?

Yes. Standard 55 is supplied as a complete DIY kit. You configure your door in the Garage Door Builder, then fit it on site. If you prefer a fully handled service, we also offer local fitting across Norfolk and Suffolk.
